Team Manager's Information for Cross Country Season 2011-12

The Cross Country season is nearly with us and you can see on the calendar the main events that NMH will be entering. The following have to be pre-entered:

Saturday 5^th November National X Country Relays Mansfield. Entry by 8th Oct

Saturday 10^th December NE Champs  Blyth. Entry by 5th November

Saturday 28^th January Northern Champs Venue Pontefract Entry by 3^rd January

Saturday 25th February Nationals Parliament Hill London. Entry by 20^th December

We will also enter teams for the Cathedral relays in Durham which are usually held in late January

The NYSD’s as always are turn up and pay and you will get a number for the whole series if you are U13 or older. The cost for the whole series is £4 for all those U17 and £5 for anyone older. This has got to be the best value season ticket in any sport. All NYSD meetings this season will have U11 races which are usually entered on a turn up and run basis (but check with me for exact details) and start  about midday. The first U13 race is always at 1pm. The senior men are last off usually about 2.15pm.

The regional and national events need to be entered well in advance. I have given the deadlines above so please let me know by these dates if you would like to enter. The club will pay for these entries but you are expected to refund the fee if you do not run for any reason.

Please support the club by entering as many events as possible. All these events are great fun whatever your level and experience as there is always someone to run against who is roughly your level and it is always good to run at different venues against new people. The bigger events are a great experience so please give them serious thought

Please all put the 15^th January in your diaries now as it would be brilliant to have a massive turnout for our home fixture. We will need a lot of help on the day itself  helping to set up the course and with marshalling/organisation. More information will be coming out about this but please do your very best to either help or compete .

New Marske have a great record in the relays so we have a lot to live up to but it would also be great to get more teams out so please put the dates in your diary and let me know if you want to compete. You are not running for very long in them and they can be very exciting.
