Back in May we sat in the Chop Gate car park with thunder, lightening and hailstones.  Well move forward to July and we left Guisborough with thunder, lightening and no power.  A fell race on top of the moors, we must be mad!  Following a lap around the car park, the 92 runners set off up the 1.5km hill to Cock Howe.   A 13-year-old junior hardly out of breath was 2nd to the 1st checkpoint.  A circular route followed with a couple of rain showers to cool the runners down (9.46km 343m ascent).  Shelli Gordon was the first Harrier in 44th (5th Lady 52:31) followed 12 seconds later by Kath Aspin in 45th (6th Lady). 7 seconds later was Kay Neesam in 48th (7th Lady). 19 seconds separated our 3 team members and it clinched them the team prize again.   Nick O'Grady, 70th pipped Ronnie Sherwood 71st by 1 second.  Jo Goldsmith in her first Fell Race for nearly 12 months finished in 73rd not far behind Ronnie.  Next Race, Gribdale Gallop on 3rd August 7.15pm
