Snake Lane 10 -  26/02/12

"On your marks, get set, go" --- or not as happened in the Snake Lane 10 on Sunday. Not often you see a false start in a road race and it was interesting for those watching to see the runners trying to squeeze back over the line for the restart. Thanks must to go to Tom Danby and the Pocklington Club for hosting an excellent race and arranging the good weather for the day!

Tom Danby wearing his Pocklington colours was home in 8th place.   The first three Harriers to finish all hit PB’s, Paul Cleasby in 64:34 knocking 3 minutes off his PB, Kath Aspin in 68:38 and Erin Pearson well under her sub 70 target at 68:47. Kath and Erin had a good battle during the race which will no doubt continue to help them both do better times in future races.  Jo Goldsmith was next home in 74:56 with the New Marske Ladies an excellent 4th out of 52 Ladies teams.  Joanne Wheatley finished in 82:37 shortly followed by Charlotte Ellis and Louise Danby complete with tannoy encouragement as they entered the home straight.   Jim Conaghan was 1st M75 in 85:53 and Julian Wilkinson was the final Harrier home in 89:57 knocking a massive 21:34 off his PB.

To complete the day both Kath and Erin won place prizes in an extensive prize list.
