Kirbymoorside 10K - 05/05/13

If you are wondering why the report has a picture of a tractor on it, Kirbymoorside not only hosted the annual 10K, but as a prelude to the race around 300 tractors of all different sizes and ages paraded through the centre of the town. The attmosphere at this race was superb with a Brass Band playing at the finishline and the crowd lining the street.  With a full range of of junior events on offer it made a great day out for the family.  Rebecca & Thomas both had good runs in competitive races.  433 seniors ran the race which included some competive 16 and 17 year olds.  The course started off up a hill for the first 5k before looping round for a downhill finish.  Many of the junior runners went of at fast pace which they probably later regretted.  After a steady start Kath reeled them in and managed to grab 3rd place from a youngster in the final 1K.  Prizes at the race come in the form of pottery with Kath picking up the 3rd place and 1st V45 plates.
